Team Signups

Park Productions has 9 teams that students can join. Each team is led by one or more Team Leads, who are responsible for overseeing them. The rest of each team is made up of student in 3 different role levels:

Trainees: Any student who signs up to join a team is considered a trainee. They can participate in workshops to learn more about that field. Trainees are not yet hired as Student Employees, and thus will not fill paid roles on client projects, though they may be invited to shadow the crew on some shoots, and work with staff over the course of projects in a training capacity, in order to learn more about our processes. 

 

Reserve Staff: Trainees who can demonstrate a certain level of skill, good communication, eagerness to learn, and ability to work as a team can apply to be “proactively onboarded” as part of our Reserve Staff. Once they are onboarded, they may be pulled up to work on a paid client project if the opportunity arises.

Full Staff: Reserve Staff members who demonstrate exceptional competence in their field, reliability on projects, and strong teamwork may be promoted to Full Staff members. These, along with the Team Leads, are our go-to crew members for paid client projects.

Camera Team

Led by: Camera Lead
Other Staff: Camera Staff
Reserve Staff may be asked to work as camera operators on paid projects when camera staff are unavailable.
Trainees are invited to shadow camera staff on shoots, and encouraged to participate in the workshops offered by camera staff in order to gain the experience to join our paid staff. 

Lighting Team

Led by: Lighting Lead
Other Staff: G&E Staff
Reserve Staff may be asked to work as grips or gaffers on paid projects when G&E staff are unavailable.
Trainees are invited to shadow G&E staff on shoots, and encouraged to participate in the workshops offered by G&E staff in order to gain the experience to join our paid staff. 

Sound Team

Led by: Sound Lead
Other Staff: Sound Staff
Reserve Staff may be asked to work as sound recordists on paid projects when sound staff are unavailable.
Trainees are invited to shadow sound staff on shoots, and encouraged to participate in the workshops offered by sound staff in order to gain the experience to join our paid staff. 

Editing Team

Led by: Post-Production Supervisor
Other Staff: DIT Manager, 
Staff Editors
Reserve Staff may be asked to work on client editing projects when staff editors are unavailable.
 
Trainees may be given footage to practice with to create short clips that we may use for our social media. They will be particularly encouraged to attend our editing workshops.

Management Team

Led by: Project Managers, Team Manager, Event Coordinators
Other Staff: Staff Producers
Reserve Staff may be asked to produce client projects when staff producers are unavailable.
Member Involvement: This group will be invited to shadow producers on shoots and help with pre-production. They will be particularly encouraged to attend the Producing Workshops. They also may be delegated tasks from the Event Coordinators related to events like the Ithaca Short Film Festival, or from the Team Manager.

Drone Squad

Led by: Drone Squad Managers
Other Staff: Licensed Drone Pilots
Support Staff may serve in non-pilot roles on paid projects, such as ground cameras, control room, and on-air talent.
Trainees can participate in fly days and attend trainings to prepare for the licensing exam. 

Studio Team

Led by: StudioManager
Other Staff: Studio Staff
Trainees who have not yet been hired onto Studio Staff will not have responsibilities around Studio reservations, but may help with internal Studio operations such as assisting around internal events/shoots, or some general studio maintenance. This is a good way to get familiar with the Studio space for those interested in applying for a Studio Staff position when they become available.

Photo Team

Led by: Still Photo Lead
Other Staff: Staff Photographers
Reserve Staff may be asked to work on client photo projects when staff photographers are unavailable.
Trainees can attend training opportunities such as photography & photo editing workshops, and may be invited to shadow photographers on shoots. 

Marketing Team

Led by: Marketing Manager
Member Involvement: This group will serve as a marketing committee, assisting the Marketing Manager with creating content for social media and other tasks as needed. They may capture BtS content at workshops and/or on shoots, edit clips for social media, and design graphics & flyers.
